Hospice of the Prairie & Prairie Home Health's executive director, Julie Pinkerton, has been elected as the chairperson of the Kansas Hospice & Palliative Care Organization for 2008-2009.
    KHPCO is a work group of the LIFE Project Foundation and works to enable every Kansan to have access to quality care at the end of life. Comprised of over 30 Kansas hospice & palliative organizations, KHPCO is committed to providing hospice education to its membership as well as promoting high standards of hospice care among Kansas providers. KHPCO is also involved in promoting state and national legislative issues affecting the hospice industry and has an active role in the Hospice-Veteran Partnership, which is designed to ensure access to quality end of life care for veterans.  
    Having held various offices with KHPCO over the past five years, Pinkerton is well prepared for this leadership role. As the chairperson of KHPCO, Pinkerton also holds a position with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Council of States.
     Pinkerton has been employed with Hospice of the Prairie & Prairie Home Health for 14 years, having served as the executive director for the past seven years.
