    Norman Dean Grubbs, 78, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at his home in Ulysses.
    He was born July 17, 1929, at Epworth Hospital in Liberal to Ralph and Violet (Fliginger) Grubbs.  He married Mary Ellen Turner on Sept. 18, 1946, in Ulysses. She survives of the home.
    He was baptized as a young boy. He enjoyed dancing with his sweetie pie and any music that would go with it. Many will remember how they could Jitterbug! Norman was an electronic technician who enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles, computers, flying airplanes and, most of all, his family.     
    He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1953 and a member of the Baptist Church in Hugoton.  He spent most of his adult life farming north of Hugoton.
    Other survivors include three daughters, Linda Young and husband, O.D., Ulysses, Pam Lewis and husband, Jim, Jay, Okla., and Debbie Sue Arnold and husband, Jerry, Satanta; one son-in-law, Willie Jones, Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother, Richard Grubbs and wife, Estie, Hugoton; one sister-in-law, June Grubbs, Ulysses; one brother-in-law, John Turner and wife, Karen, Enid, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and another one on the way. 
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Jones, and a brother, Francis Grubbs.
    The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, with the Rev. Bill Harrold officiating.          Interment will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery. 
    Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home.
