Dodge City High School’s Dylan Woods bowled a season-high 720 series on Thursday at the Red Demons’ home triangular at Spare Tyme Bowl, to help the DCHS boys win the meet with a  2,669 score.

    Woods best individual game of the day was 268 and he finished with a 262. Great Bend took second with a 2,592 and Hocomb had a 2,207.

    The Dodge City girls finished second, four pins behind Great Bend’s 2,261 with a 2,257. Holcomb had a 1,846.
    Chantel Smith led the girls with a 627, Christi Larman added a 571 and Katie Larman had a 543.
    Behind Woods on the boys side, Kaden Herbert bowled a 683 and Patrick Bilslend added a 641.
    “We bowled well today,” DCHS head coach Tyson Clark wrote in an email. “The girls came up four pins short.  The Guys responded well after struggling Tuesday.  We must give credit to Great Bend they are a very solid team.  If we continue to improve and compete at the level we competed at today, we will experience success.” 
    The Dodge City boys are now 4-1 overall and 2-1 in Western Athletic Conference play. The girls are 3-2, 1-2. 
    “The WAC title will come down to the very last meet in February,” Clark wrote. “Now we get to go compete in a huge tournament Saturday in Wichita and see how we stack up to the best teams in the State.”
    The boys junior varisity took second with a 1,917. Blake Rumbaugh bowled a 494.
    The girls JV took second with a 1,417 and Katie Poeckert had a 354.
