"We played pretty well, but we didn't guard very well in the first half," said Dodge City men's basketball head coach Kyle Campbell. "We gave up too many easy shots in the first half. We did much better in the second half."

Four players also scored in double figures for Hesston: Pierre Zook 20, Mahlon Jones 16 and Beau Palmer and Alex Santiago scored 11 apiece.
The Conqs are going to take three days off before preparing for their next game on Nov. 26 at McCook (Neb.).

For the game, Dodge City outrebounded Hesston 42-18, but committed 26 turnovers that allowed the Lady Larks to score 20 of their 25 points during a 50-point second half.
"They got a lot of points off of our turnovers and played well in the second half," said Dodge City women's basketball head coach Lucas McDonald. "We shot 49 percent from the field (in the game). I was pleased with the way the team stuck together with the crowd involvement and we were able to pull it out and finish the plays when we needed to."
Destiva Davis scored 18 of her 22 points in the second half for the Lady Larks, while Makayla Ludwig added 14 and Rachel Miller 10 in the Hesston loss.
The Lady Conqs have two games this weekend at the Hutchinson Classic. Dodge City plays Iowa Lakes on Friday and Independence on Saturday.
