Andrew Weiser picked up his seventh victory of the summer Thursday night to lead the Dodge City Rangers to a 3-0 victory over the Pratt 86ers in American Legion action.
The Rangers completed the sweep with a 10-2 victory in six innings in the nightcap.
Weiser gave up four hits and three walks while striking out eight to record the seven-inning complete game victory.
"He's been on his game this entire summer," said Rangers head coach Chris Chilton. "With him on the mound, no matter how are bats are swinging, we have a chance to win. He's been throwing strikes and inducing groundouts and double-play balls to get us out of trouble."
Dodge City (25-5) scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth.
Andrew Balderaz crossed the plate the first run when he singled, stole second and later scored on a throwing error on a ball hit by Gideon Wells.
Balderaz hit a RBI sacrifice fly in the fifth and Drew Chance hit another in the sixth to complete the scoring.
Dodge City scored a run in the top of the first on a RBI single by Wells, with Pratt scoring a run in the third inning.
The Rangers added four runs in the top of the fifth on RBI singles by Jordan Doan, Grant Meininger and Collin Gifford and Balderaz scored on an error.
Dodge City scored five more runs in the sixth. After loading the bases, Doan was hit by a pitch to bring in a run, Wells induced a bases-loaded walk, Meininger had another RBI single, Balderaz scored on a wild pitch and the final run came due to an error on a ball hit by Gifford.
Juan Carlos Vallejo was the winning pitcher for the Rangers. He gave up two runs (one earned), four hits and three walks while striking out four to earn the decision on the mound.
Dodge City's next games are Monday in a home doubleheader against Hays Thomas More Prep.
