A Dodge City man accused of kidnapping and other charges was arrested in Great Bend, according to information provided by Dodge City Police Department.

Ricardo Andres Lima, 30, of Dodge City made a first appearance in Ford County District Court on Monday with another hearing scheduled on Thursday, Feb. 9 at Ford County Courthouse.

According to records, Lima was arrested on Sunday from an incident that occurred in Dodge City and has been charged with kidnapping, domestic battery, knowing or reckless bodily harm to family member, possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, using or possessing with intent to use, drug paraphernalia into the human body, trafficking contraband into a correctional or care facility.

"Mr. Lima was arrested outside of Dodge City for the alleged incident," Ford County Attorney Kevin Salzman said. "He has made his first appearance and is due back in court on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. at

district court.

"All of the charges are related to the same incident that occurred in the city."

According to DCPD, officers were called to the 2500 block of Central Avenue and, upon investigating, discovered the suspect was in Great Bend.

"Great Bend police were able to locate the individuals involved and subsequently take a male Dodge City resident into custody," said Jerad Goertzen, DCPD deputy chief.

After arrest, Lima was discovered to have narcotics in his possession. The investigation is active and ongoing and DCPD officials would like to remind everyone suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
