Out with the old and in with the new.
It is time for the Ford County Extension Council to hold its annual Extension Council Elections.
This year we will put a new spin on the election meeting when we host it in conjunction with Final Friday at the Dodge City Public Library.
Join us on Friday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. as we "Unlock the Key to Extension."
There will be 4-H arts and crafts, photos, woodworking and other project displays, FCE information and booths, information about radon, estate planning and soil testing and much more.
We will also be hosting our Extension Council Annual Elections. In accordance with Kansas Extension Law, representatives to serve in agriculture, family and consumer sciences, 4-H youth development and community development will be elected on a county-wide basis to serve a two-year term.
All persons 18 years of age or older and living within the boundaries of Ford County are invited and eligible for nomination and to vote.
Candidates will be running for the four Program Development Committee areas- Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development and Economic Development.
These candidates and the current committee members will provide guidance and leadership to the Ford County Extension program for the upcoming year.
"We are excited to be a part of Final Friday with the Dodge City Public Library," said Andrea Burns, Ford County Extension director and Ag and Natural Resources agent. "Ford County Extension is one of the best kept secrets in the area and we hope the public will take the time to come out and see what we are all about."
We will be featuring some of the wonderful artwork, photos, woodworking, and baking skills of the Ford County 4-H members that were displayed at the 2018 Ford County Fair and most recently, the Kansas State Fair.
We will also have educational displays and demonstrations about some of the programs and services we provide to the people of Ford County.
Come join us to learn how to "Unlock the Key to Extension."
