On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, the Dodge City Ministerial Alliance, along with several churches, businesses and individuals, will sponsor and host the Community Thanksgiving Feast and Fellowship.

The meal is scheduled to take place at the National Guard Armory, 2120 1st Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Over the past several years, the support of local businesses has greatly contributed to the success of this event.

Last year, the alliance served a meal of smoked turkey, dressing and vegetables, along with all the traditional trimmings and dessert.

Approximately 450 people were served at the armory, and were also able to serve meals to several shut-ins who were unable to attend.

"We are trying to get the word out early as possible," Dodge City Ministerial Alliance president John Seatvet said. "If you would like to financially support this worthwhile event. Send your tax-deductible donation made payable to First Baptist Church, who is processing this year's finances so that individuals and businesses can receive tax credit."

Earmark the memo line with Thanksgiving Feast, then address the gift to: Dodge City Ministerial Alliance, First Baptist Church, 1310 N. 2nd Avenue, Dodge City, KS 67801.

Contributions received by Nov. 15, will help better plan and coordinate the event.

This event is only possible with the help of many, and the alliance wants to thank you for considering being a supporter.

"May God richly bless you in abundance," Seatvet said.
