Dodge City Community College Foundation has many donors with a servant’s heart who have supported the Foundation and DCCC over the years.

Mr. Jim Coffin with J-A-G Construction is being recognized as a generous supporter of the Foundation and DCCC for many years. In addition to several projects and programs at DCCC since the creation of the current campus location, Coffin and J-A-G Construction generously made an in-kind donation this past summer with the creation of a parking lot on the west side of the Student Activities Center.

Coffin is a 1966 graduate of Dodge City High School.

J-A-G Constructions Co. was first established in 1962 by Bob and June Coffin in Dodge City.

In 1970, Coffin and his wife Marie, joined the company and they decided to add a ready-mix concrete facility to the business.

In 1986, Coffin took over the company from his father and began to operate both companies.

Currently, the business has expanded to a group of companies, including Dodge City Sand, and JAG II, with offices in Dodge City, Garden City, Sublette, and Hooker, Oklahoma, and Guymon, Oklahoma.

"Bob and June Coffin were very supportive of the Dodge City community and established a long tradition of giving back in numerous ways," said Foundation Major Gifts Chairman, Greg Goff, a volunteer with the Foundation. "Jim and Marie continued that legacy with their sons, Kris and Andy, and their generosity is legendary in Dodge City and Southwest Kansas."

"We greatly appreciate the support of the Coffin family at DCCC and the parking lot expansion at the new Student Activities Center," said Foundation Director, Christina Haselhorst. "It is an example of their continued support and this community is so blessed to have a family-owned business that cares so deeply about Dodge City and Southwest Kansas.

"Jim has been a part of the Foundation for several years and we are looking forward to a continuing a long relationship with him and the DCCC Foundation Family.

"The additional parking lot was much needed on the northeast side of campus as the activity in the Student Activities Center has been booming as well as the increased success of the nursing program just to our west.

"The new parking lot has helped to relieve some of the congestion around the SAC and has given our community easier access to the building for games, the walking track, and for shelter use."
