The Dodge City Public Library named its board of trustees for 2019.

Serving her second term on the board of trustees and new Board Chairperson will be Hailey Zimmerman. Returning as vice chair for her second term will be Beth Love with Debbie Eddy named the treasurer.

Rounding out the rest of the board is Pamela Brady, Paula Ripple, Michael Martinez and Michelle Reid.

The city of Dodge City makes the appointments to the board.

"We are excited to have two new board members with experience in education and librarianship," said DCPL executive director Diedre Lemon." "This will be a great asset as we continue to improve library programs and services for the community in which we serve.

"It is an exciting time at the Dodge City Public Library. I am so pleased with the progress of the projects and cannot wait to share all of our improvements with the community.

"We have a great group of community members on our board and I look forward to continuing to work with them to further the betterment of the library."

An update to the recent renovations was also given.

The Kansas Heritage Center is making its move across the street to the library along with a newly remodeled children’s department downstairs.

Due to the remodeling efforts, DCPL has been closed since Feb. 11,

while the improvements take place.

It is scheduled to be reopened on March 4.

During that time, the library is open to the public on Saturdays.
