Northwest Kansas Technical College will be highlighting their Precision Agriculture Technology Program during High School Ag Career Day on opening day of the 3i SHOW Thursday, March 21.

HSACD provides students an opportunity to learn about careers in agriculture. High school Ag teachers, their students and parents, high school counselors, and extension agents are all invited.

Northwest Tech’s session will allow students to explore exciting, high-tech job opportunities within the growing precision agriculture industry. From GPS driven tractors and variable rate planters to electromagnetic soil mapping and crop dusting with drones, the world of agriculture continues to change as technology grows and the world has new demands.

Northwest Tech Precision Ag staff will demonstrate a self-driving Kubota and electromagnetic mapping sensor. Other demonstrations will include a UAS/drone equipped with a thermal sensor.

Northwest Kansas Technical College’s Precision Agriculture Technology program is a comprehensive program that provides a solid background in the high-tech practices, equipment, and software being utilized in production agriculture today.

Using a combination of classroom, shop and field environments, students acquire the skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive precision agriculture industry.
