Great American Cleanup events have been scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dodge City Fire Training Center parking lot, 2101 1st Ave.

The event is through a partnership of Keep Dodge City Beautiful and several other organizations.

For the disposal of household hazardous safely, Ford County Household Hazardous Waste will be set up for those needing to get rid of unwanted paint products, automotive products, pesticides, herbicides, batteries, or anything flammable and poisonous that you no longer need.

Archway Recycling also will be on hand to accept old electronics, such as computers, VCRs, phones, desktop copiers/printers, scanners, and flat-screen televisions.

The Dodge City Police Department will be on site to accept unwanted/outdated prescription medications. The medication can be dropped off anonymously, with no questions asked.

CREW also will be accepting flower vases for the high school floral design program, and the Ford County Humane Society will be accepting donations of good condition and clean pet crates, beds, towels, blankets, leashes, collars, food bowls and food.
