Area cellphone retail companies were put on notice after burglaries took place within hours of another on April 24

According to a crime report that was released, on April 24 around 10:50 p.m., United Wireless, located at 1105 W. McArtor Road in Dodge City, was broken into.

“Suspects broke in the side door and went directly to the room where phones were kept and pried the door open,” the crime report said. “They filled two totes with 66 iPhones and 19 Samsung phones.”

An hour later in Garden City, United Wireless was also burglarized.

“They used the same MO,” the crime report said.

A similar burglary occurred in Concordia, where US Cellular and Nex-Tech were burglarized. At this time, it is unknown when the Concordia burglary took place.

“Detectives are investigating some leads at this time,” Dodge City Police Chief Drew Francis said. “The case appears to be part a rash of similar incidents in at least two other cities: Garden City and Concordia.”

The crime report states that mostly Apple products of iPads, iPhones and watches were taken in Concordia.

Information released on the suspects in Dodge City and Garden City were two males, possibly one white and one black, wearing gloves and hoods and driving a black or dark purple 2009-2014 model Dodge Challenger with a front plate holder with no plate in its place.

In the Concordia burglary, a silver SUV was used.
