Science, technology, engineering and mathematics enthusiasts will have several summer opportunities of activities through Dodge City Community College.

On June 7 and June 14, DCCC will host the first STEM Days.

Students interested will be able to participate in three 50-minute STEM sessions.

"This is our first year," said DCCC professor of physical science Sherry Curtis. "If it is great, we will continue it during the summers."

Seating will be limited to 24 students per category and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

"There will be three different activities," Curtis said. There will be a building activity probably with balloon cars and another about bones and skeletons. I am not sure yet what the third one will be."

Students will be grouped into categories based on their grade going into the 2019-20 school year.

They will be first through fifth; sixth through eighth and ninth through 12th grades.
