The Diamonds Athletics gym once again finished the season with a top-10 finish at the national cheerleading competition in Orlando, Fla., recently.

According to Diamonds founder Valerie Heston, the Diamonds Senior level 3 and Junior 2 scored high enough to advance to the semifinals, while the Senior Royalty squad made it on to Day 3 and ended up taking seventh place in the nation out of 86 teams in their division.

The Black Diamonds division also finished in the top 20 out of 119 teams that competed.

"It’s a honor to be one of the top 20 percent of competitive gyms that get the chance to compete at the ESPN D2 Summit," Heston said. "This is what we work for all year but the memories, friendship and being part of the entire experience is the best part.

"The kids performed amazing and coach Abel (Oliveras) and myself couldn’t be prouder."

The Diamonds Athletics offer both competitive and non-competitive class in cheer, dance and tumbling.
