City of Dodge City facilities will be closed Thursday for the Fourth of July holiday.

Public Transportation will not be offering transportation services on Thursday; regular transportation hours will resume Friday, July 5.

The Visitors Center will be open during its regular summer hours from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you need information about activities going on in the community over the Fourth of July week, visit the Convention & Visitors Bureau website at www.visitdodgecity.org.

Sanitation services normally provided on Thursday will be scheduled for Friday, July 5. Please have polycarts placed at the curb by 7 a.m.

The CREW recycle center will be closed on Thursday.

The Civic Center dropoff is available 24 hours each day, as well as the bins at the recycle center at 716 E. Military.

The Community Fourth of July fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m. Thursday night at the Dodge City Roundup Arena.

Gates will open at the arena at 7 p.m. along with concessions and beverage stands.

City commissioners approved July 2-5 as the dates that fireworks will be allowed be shot off in the city limits with some restrictions.

On those dates, fireworks can be shot off between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m.

They are prohibited from being set off on any public property, which includes public parks, public baseball fields and soccer fields, any public school property and any public parking areas, such as the Dodge City Civic Center or Memorial Stadium.

They will also be prohibited on any real property within corporate limits of the city.
