Jewelry owners who want to upgrade or update the style of a ring they inherited from their grandmother can do so at Riddle’s Jewelry, 2601 Central Ave., in the Village Square Mall.

Riddle’s Jewelry will play host to a Diamond and Design event for members of the public to create, upgrade and restyle their existing jewelry from July 17-21.

"Customers have an emotional connection with diamonds and gem stones that is very unique," said Riddle's diamond consultant Mahria Barango. "During the event we will be available for those interested in upgrading their more sentimental or heirloom pieces."

Customers can redistribute or combine elements of their existing jewelry with new ones.

"Maybe someone is looking to upgrade their center stone or looking for something more unique and eccentric," Barango said.

Hundreds of different diamond mountings, exclusive and unique rings and large, loose diamonds at least 1 carat in weight will be available for purchase out of the case, said Karina Davila, also a diamond consultant for the store.

This is not the first event of its kind.

"When they come in it’s really exciting," Davila said. "These will be exclusive and unique pieces you normally would have to special order. They’re different cuts one wouldn’t typically see in-store."

There will be an exclusive preview night from 7 to 9 p.m. July 16 for members of the Dodge City Chamber of Commerce.

The evening will feature signature hand-crafted drinks provided by Boot Hill Distillery.
