The ninth annual Dodge City Community College Foundation Golf Classic Tournament will be held on Friday, Aug. 16, at the Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City.

According to DCCC Foundation director Christina Haselhorst, the money raised for this year's tournament will continue to benefit the work of the DCCC Foundation in supporting programs, scholarships and special projects at Dodge City Community College.

"Each year, I am always excited for the community support that we receive from our sponsors and our golfers. Last year’s Golf Classic was a success thanks to all of them," Haselhorst said in a news release. "The turnout was terrific and we’ve been blessed each year with amazing weather."

This year there will be a new online signup available to those interested in participating. It can be found at

The tournament will be a four-person scramble with registration starting at 9 a.m. and a start time of 10 a.m. Aug. 16.

Registration will be $100 per player and will include a green fee, cart, lunch and prizes.

For $20 per player, two mulligans or throws can also be purchased.

The tournament will be limited to the first 36 four-person teams, according to Haselhorst, with prizes given for the three flight winners, winners of longest drives and closest to the pin, and other games with current DCCC Conquistador golfers.

"We are seeing the results of positive efforts at the college with highly ranked nursing programs, college/community partnerships, students getting involved within the community, academic boot camps, consortiums with state universities and more," Haselhorst said in a news release. "DCCC is vital and important to our community, and in return, we recognize how important community support is to a college.

"This type of event is an example of the community ‘friendraising’ that the Foundation strives to cultivate."
