The varsity and junior varsity girls cross country team for Dodge City High School both claimed 2nd place over the weekend.

The cross country meet was held at the Wolf Creek Classic in Perryton, Texas.

The varsity girls runners finished with a total time of 1:12:31.03 and an average of 14:30.21.

"We had a good opening meet for the season," DCHS girls cross country coach Brian Lenz. "We had a couple of pleasant surprises and as happens each year, we have a better understanding of the work we need to do."
