On Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Dodge City Public Library, a special musical event will be held at 7 p.m.

An Evening of Spanish Christmas Carols will be in the Lois Flanagan room of the DCPL and will feature local musician Rigoberto Valverde singing traditional Spanish Christmas carols.

This event is free and open to the public.

“The Dodge City Public Library currently offers a variety of programming including Spanish and bilingual programs,” DCPL executive director Diedre Lemon said. “Vicky Ortiz’s programs have always had a focus on the Hispanic community.

“In the upcoming year the Dodge City Public Library will focus on more bilingual programming for our community.”

DCPL Collection Development and Finance Librarian, Michael Biltz added, “The inspiration for scheduling this program came from my having had the opportunity to see Rigoberto Valverde perform.

“I thought, ‘Wow, this guy has talent which would be great to showcase over the holidays.’”
