America is facing true crisis
America is facing crossroads never before encountered in its 240-year history. A foreign power, opposed to all democratic principles, interferes in our presidential election in support of a person with decades of long-term business involvement and personal interests with that very nation.
Partisan politics responds by downplaying and diluting the investigation. Spurred on by frequent words and actions from our new leader, racism and bigotry have reared their ugly heads, but rationalization and denial from partisan politics do nothing to put it back in the closet.
Innocent Americans are massacred, but instead of pursuing positive resolutions, partisan politics performs diversionary gymnastics. Foreign foes of America have their leaders praised and declared to “enjoy mutually good personal relationships” with our president, while longtime allies are publicly insulted; partisan politics looks the other way.
The nation’s airwaves and social media are filled with character assignations and falsehoods by our leader, without challenges from our partisan political practitioners.
I was taught if you have a bad apple, you get rid of it before it ruins the entire barrel. Partisan politics ignore the smell and disgusting taste, because it comes from “our barrel.”
This observation comes from someone who has faithfully voted for each of our Kansas legislators in Washington, currently marching in partisan lock step, ignoring values and placing personal priorities and party loyalties above those of the nation. But come Election Day, not anymore.
