The Conquistador baseball team ended their season on Saturday afternoon as they fell to Neosho in the first round of the Region VI Playoffs by a score of 8-4.
After not scoring a single run on Friday, the Conquistadors changed that on Saturday, scoring in the first inning on a sac-fly to take a 1-0 lead in game two of the series.
In the bottom of the second, Neosho got their offense going as they hit a one-out double to score two runs and give them their first lead of the game, 2-1.
Neosho would continue to add to their lead, scoring one in the third, two in the fourth and two more in the sixth, but Colton Onstott would end the scoring streak as he crushes a two run home run in the top of the seventh to cut the lead to 7-3.
Dodge City then got one more in the top of the eighth on a single from Cameron Fritz, but the Panthers responded with one of their own in the bottom of the eighth. In the top of the ninth, Dodge City got two baserunners, but a strikeout and a flyout ended the game and punched Neosho's ticket to Wichita by a score of 8-4.
Dodge City ends their season with an overall record of 31-25 and a record of 15-17 in KJCCC play.
