The Dodge City Red Demons girls cross country team’s season continues after the team won its 6A Regional in Wichita Saturday.

“The team ran a solid race today,” Girls cross country coach Brian Lenz said via email. “Norma Rodriguez was a pleasant surprise and Ayanna Hensley came through with a great race at an important time.”

The win means the Red Demons will run at the 6A State race scheduled for Saturday at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence. Start time is scheduled for 12:55 p.m. It was the third time in the last four years and second straight year the Red Demons have won the regional.

Dodge City individuals:
5th: Ayanna Hensley in a time of 20:51.
6th: Daisy Orozco in a time of 20:56.
10th: Norma Rodriguez in a time of 21:12.
11th: Serenity Larson in a time of 21:22.
15th: Denise Dominguez in a time of 21:27.
18th: Caroline Williams in a time of 21:36.
21st: Ely Dorado in a time of 21:41.
