The Satanta Indians finished their appearances in the 2019 SPIAA League Basketball Tournament with a come-from-behind win by a score of 52-43.
“We had a slow start,” Satanta coach Tim Dusin said. “We’re missing some players tonight so it took us a little bit to get going and find a rhythm and try to get to do what we needed to do, but I thought we played better defense at the end and executed offensively.”
With the game tied 4-4 in the first quarter, the Bulldogs went on a 9-2 run to end the quarter with a 13-6 lead. They continued to lead through the second and led 22-17 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Indians outplayed the Bulldogs and took leads at various points before Ingalls took a lead on a 3-pointer in the waning seconds of the quarter to lead at the end of it 37-35.
The Indians took a lead with about 5:08 left in the fourth quarter with a score 41-39. The Bulldogs tied the score at 41-41, but when the Indians took a 43-41 lead, they never relinquished it.
It was the last game of the Tournament for Satanta.
“I think just for us experience-wise to play and continue to play and get better every game, that for us is the focus,” Dusin said.
