The South Central Timberwolves boys and girls, the Ingalls girls and the South Gray boys basketball teams are among area sports teams that will play in the Dodge City Community College 1A Sub-State bracket later this week.

Spearville’s girls team, which lost in the Regional Championship to Ingalls, will play in the Pratt Community College Sub-State.

Sub-State rounds are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Thursday with the semifinal round on the girls side. The boys semifinals are scheduled for Friday, and both Championship Games are scheduled for Saturday.

In Dodge City, Ingalls’ girls team faces Pretty Prairie at 6 p.m. Thursday. They are led by senior superstar Ashlyn Cure and enter the game with a record of 16-7.

Following that game, at about 7:30 p.m., 21-2 South Central takes on 9-13 Minneola in the other semifinal game.

The Championship Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. on the girls side, 7:30 p.m. on the boys side.

On the boys side, action kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. when 22-1 South Gray takes on 17-6 Little River. On the other side, 17-6 Macksville takes 19-4 South Central.

In Pratt, the Spearville Lancers girls basketball team, at 18-4 this season, takes on 20-2 Hutchinson-Central Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday. Following that, 19-4 South Gray takes on 20-3 Cunningham.

On the boys side in Pratt, 19-4 Attica takes on 14-9 Hodgeman County at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by 19-4 St. John’s playing 12-11 Minneola at 7:30 p.m.

The Championship Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. on the girls side, 7:30 p.m. on the boys side.
