Three runs in the top of the sixth kept the Red Demons just far enough at bay as the Garden City Buffaloes beat Dodge City 8-7 on Tuesday in Dodge City.

Noah Sowers took the loss for the Red Demons, while Cooper Thayer got the win for the Buffaloes.

Sowers threw three and one-third innings, striking out three but walking seven and allowing five runs, two of which were earned, according to stats provided by Dodge City Athletics.

Thayer threw five innings and also allowed five runs, all of which were earned, while walking four and striking out five.

Sowers and Adrian Mendoza had a team-high two hits for the Red Demons, while Sowers had a team-high two RBIs and Matt Friess tied a game high with two runs.

Easton Lager had game-highs of three hits and three RBIs for the Buffaloes, while Ethan Newberry and Auston Waetzig each had two runs.

The Red Demons are in action again Friday when they head to Great Bend to take on the Great Bend Panthers.
