Letter to the editor: Does electoral college help Midwest?

Bob Beatty's editorial in Thursday's paper referred to the electoral college system as “antedilvian.” It's hardly prehistoric, but, obviously, he thinks it is out of date.

I think he should explain what would happen to the entire middle of the country if they aren't protected by the electoral college system.
