Outdoors: Wacky Warnings

Somewhere on my lengthy list of unanswered questions is the query that asks “Just how far will we go to protect ourselves from ourselves?” Don’t get me wrong, there are some very necessary warnings out there, like huge letters on a tank of gasoline that read “FLAMMABLE,” or flags that tell us “Road Work Ahead.” But for every good and reasonable warning are a dozen other absolutely wacky warnings that leave us shaking our head. The thing to remember about wacky warnings is that they got there because someone, somewhere actually did what the warnings tell you not to do.

DODGE CITY - Thomas D. Taylor, 88, passed away on December 24, 2021 in Dodge City, Kansas. Tom was born July 21, 1933, on the family farm in Stafford County, Kansas. His parents were Jesse (Jack) and Opal Taylor. He was the youngest of four siblings, with an older sister Virginia and brothers Roger and Daniel.

American Legion National Vice Commander visits city

During a tour of Kansas, the American Legion National Vice-commander Angel Narvaez recently visited Dodge City and its American Legion Post 47. According to Charles Sellens with the American Legion in Dodge City, Kansas was the second of eight states that Narvaez visited, accompanied by Kansas Department Commander Marri Krupco, Kansas Department Vice-commander Jeremy Ehart, Kansas Alternate National Executive Committeeman Ray Vail and Kansas Adjutant Jimmie Foster.
