Youth Wrestler of the Week
Brody Weil is our wrestler of the week. He is currently a member of the Dodge City Wrestling Academy. At 8 years old and 95 pounds, he is already a veteran hammer on the mat. He had a first-place finish in Pratt and looks forward to his next match. He is a Kansas State qualifier, a two-time Redskin Battle of the West champion, a DCWA Shootout champion, a Leoti Takedown champion and Gray County Wrestling Tournament champion. 2021 Light Up Dodge City Holiday Lights Contest winners announced
Christmas has concluded for 2021 and with it comes the announcement of the 2021 winners for the Light Up Dodge City Holiday Lights Contest. According to the Dodge City Convention & Visitors Bureau, the fifth annual winners were Niles and Sue Wiseman, located at 1002 Ragan Rd.

Neal graduates from Young Stockmen’s Academy
TOPEKA – Derek Neal, Montezuma, was one of 16 Kansas Livestock Association members from across the state to graduate from the KLA Young Stockmen’s Academy. Merck Animal Health partnered with KLA to host members in their 20s for a series of four seminars throughout 2020-21.
Dodge City Wrestling Academy Pratt Open results
The Dodge City Wrestling Academy faced some very talented competition at the Pratt Open. The Academy had four athletes that claimed a first-place finish. Brody Weil had a very impressive tournament and is improving his skills every time he takes the mat.

Historically Speaking: St. Cornelius Episcopal Church
The oldest surviving church building in Dodge City stands on “Gospel Hill” where most of early Dodge City’s churches stood. This hill is north of the downtown businesses district.
USDA expands partnerships through Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program

Through the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with the National Museum of American History, Boot Hill Museum is holding the “¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues/En los barrios y las grandes ligas,” exhibition.

Clinton Wayne Demoret
Clinton Wayne Demoret passed away on December 22nd, 2021 at the age of 58; at Great Plains Health in North Platte. Clint was born in Dodge City, Kansas to Gene and Marilyn Demoret on June 1st, 1963.

Buyrel Dean Ritter
CLEAR LAKE - Buyrel Dean Ritter, 77 of Clear Lake, IA went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 20th, 2021, after a battle with Covid. He was born June 18th, 1944, to Edward and Dorothy (Atteberry) Ritter in Denver, Colorado.
