Years ago, shortly after I’d first moved to Kansas, I stored my boat for the winter in an airy old shed at my dad’s farm. To help keep it clean inside and to keep out the moisture, I wrapped it with a tarp. When I pulled it out the following spring, I found corn stalks, milo stalks, (some with heads still attached) and wads of various other crop residue stuffed into every imaginable nook and cranny inside the boat. Dad took one look at the mess and nonchalantly mused “Packrats huh.” I think I replied “Pack what?”

The Dodge City men’s basketball team went on the road on Wednesday night and ground out a tight 86-81 win over Pratt for their 15th win of the season giving the Conquistadors their most wins in a season since 2016-17.
Heading to the stage at the Boot Hill Casino & Resort Conference Center on Friday, March 18, the Highwayman Live tribute band will head into Dodge City with the show starting at 7 p.m. and doors opening at 6 p.m.

Kaden Webb had a breakthrough day for the Dodge City High School bowling team, shooting a 659 winning the Varsity Boys competition. As a team, the boys were able to win a very close match. Auston Barnett earned 3rd and Manual Martinez was right behind in fourth.
This past weekend, Dodge City Wrestling Academy had four athletes take on the Miles Wrestling Production Mortal Combat tournament in Salina, Kansas. Ethan Lopez and Declan Keller both placed 3rd in this tournament.
