Time to plant potatoes

With St. Patrick’s Day, many gardeners swear that you must plant potatoes for good luck. This year especially, we need to use a soil thermometer and not a calendar to determine if it is time to plant potatoes in the ground. Actually, any time from mid- to late-March is a good time to plan potatoes if the soil temperature is arm enough to prevent the potatoes from rotting before they sprout.

Dodge City Baseball

The Red Demon baseball team will return four starters from last year’s WAC Championship team, Aiden Sowers, Dawson Taylor, Remington Miller, and Tucker Smith. All four were key contributors at the dish hitting .286 or above with Miller and Sowers leading the way at .387 and .344 respectively.

Dodge City Golf

The Dodge City Red Demons golf team has high expectations this year and this team is led by senior Cooper Scheck. Scheck won two tournaments last year, including the regional.

Bucklin Baseball

Bucklin baseball brings back two starting pitchers in Nate Bowman (senior) and Scott Price (senior). Bowman pitched 49.2 innings last year and faced 214 batters and struck out 92 of them.
