BHS Softball: Picks up 2 wins against Pratt Skyline

The Bucklin Red Aces softball team remains undefeated with two solid wins over Pratt Skyline on Monday night. In the first game Skyline got things started in the first inning as they scored one run. Bucklin pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Sydnie Jones doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Emalea Warden doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, and Halie Feikert tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Warden was credited with the victory for Bucklin. The righthander lasted six innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out eight and walking zero. Bucklin tallied eight hits. Natalie Dale and Jones each had multiple hits for Red Aces. Jones and Dale each collected two hits to lead Red Aces. In the second game Halie Feikert was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Monday, driving in six on three hits to lead Red Aces past Skyline 18-8 on Monday. Feikert drove in runs on a single in the third, a triple in the third, and a single in the fifth.

The Dodge City Area Women’s Chamber of Commerce secretary Jan Stevens, tourism co-chair Deedee Miller and treasurer Debbie Eddy welcome guests to their St. Patrick’s Day breakfast fundraiser at Casey’s Cowtown in March. The chamber would like to thank the community for helping to make their fundraiser a success. “We had an amazing turn out and served 175 meals as well as many door prizes!,” president Jennifer McCabe said. “We’d also like to thank our event sponsors Casey’s Cowtown, Vierthaler Kessen Optometry, Dodge City Tire Center, Family Practice Associates of Western Kansas, Great Western Tire and Humble Flowers and Gifts.”
