DCCC adjusts room and board rates for 2022 summer

The Dodge City Community College Board of Trustees on Tuesday, voted on a change to its room and board rates for the summer semester for 2022. “As you recall we increased our fall and spring board rates by 3% and what we’re asking for tonight is to increase our summer rates,” said DCCC vice president of student services and risk management and Title IX co-coordinator Jay Kinzer.

DCCC Track: women’s 4x100m relay national qualifying performance leads Conqs at Thunderbird Classic

Dodge City’s track and field team was led by a national qualifying performance at the Thunderbird Classic hosted by Cloud County in Concordia on Saturday as they continued the outdoor season. The quartet of Brianisha Rolling, Machala Hengen, Krissalynn Henderson, and On’Hay Phillips raced to a time of 48.17 in the 4x100 meter relay and qualified for NJCAA National Outdoor Championships with the performance.

Kathy Schultz, USD 443 Nutrition Supervisor receives Platinum Level Award

USD 443 BOE and Superintendent Dr. Dierksen recognized Kathy Schultz for earning the Platinum Level Award in the Professional Recognition Program sponsored by Child Nutrition and Wellness, Kansas State Department of Education. Kathy is the Nutrition Supervisor for Dodge City Public Schools, and has successfully completed over 250 hours of KSDE sponsored training to expand her knowledge and skills. DCHS Softball: Lady Demons drop 2 to TMP

The Lady Demons had a difficult night as they lost both games to Thomas More Prep-Marian on Thursday night. In the first game the Lady Demons lost 7-2. TMP got on the board in the second inning when an error scored one run. TMP pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third inning TMP singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. TMP scored four runs in the fourth inning. J VonLintel, K Komzrek, and Ryersee all drove in runs in the frame. Macy Musslin took the loss for the Lady Demons. The righty surrendered seven runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out one. Taryn Coon led the Lady Demons with two hits in four at bats.
