Employment scams have been around for decades — and they are not going away. In fact, in 2021 the BBB Scam Tracker Report listed employment scams as the third riskiest scams in the nation. The median loss was $900. The most affected groups were 18-to-24-year-olds and military families. In 2021, 30% of those scams were reported between May and July. BBB wants to be sure you have the right information to help you avoid becoming one of these statistics. Many are looking for ways to offset the added expenses caused by inflation. That is precisely when scammers crank up their efforts to separate you from your money.

It turned into a lucky Friday the 13th for members of Philomath when the club gathered for our final monthly meeting in May. Twenty ladies attended a morning brunch with a table decor of spring flowers and world maps as placemats in keeping with this year’s theme, “Wonders of the Modern World”.
The City of Dodge City is set to change the hours of public offices, beginning May 31 to 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m.
The Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition recently awarded Linn Elementary School for implementing a special space for nursing mothers on staff to express milk during work hours. Coalition executive Brenda Bandy said the school received a “gold level” award for its pumping room, the first of its kind in the school district, as well as for having written breastfeeding support into school policy.
