Jeri Lea Nelson Finkeldei, Age 69, of Eureka Springs, AR, died peacefully on April 27, 2022, in Little Rock AR, after a brief illness. Jeri was born on June 19, 1952, to Bertha and Frank Gorden.

The University/Training Center, 236 San Jose, in Dodge City has made a place for a new Makerspace station where anyone can access top-shelf printing equipment for free. The slogan is apt: Whatcha gonna make today? “The Makerspace is a place to combine your ideas with our stuff to make something really cool,” said Kyla Keller, Rural Education and Workforce Alliance Coordinator for the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation.

Dodge City softball team wrapped up their season in the Region VI Tournament falling 9-1 to Hutchinson and 12-4 to Colby in the tournament. The Conquistadors close the season with a 20-28 record.

The WHC County Extension Club visited the city of Nicodemus, a national historic site, on May 5 and were met by resident and historian Angela Bates at Township Hall. Bates moved to Nicodemus in 1986 from Washington, D.C., when the population was about 60 to 65 people.
