National School Bus Safety Week

Early, in-person, voting at the Ford County Clerk’s office will begin Oct. 20. - Voting hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and extended to 7 p.m. on Nov. 1 and Nov. 3. - The clerk’s office will also be open for Saturday voting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5. Glazed Sweet Potatoes

2 pounds medium sweet potatoes or 2 (18-ounce cans) sweet potatoes, drained 1/4 cup butter or margarine 1/4 cup maple-flavored syrup 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon If using fresh sweet potatoes, place in a kettle; cover with water and cook, covered for 25–35 minutes or just until tender. Drain; cool slightly.

Garden City regains the Hatchet

Garden City used a huge first half to beat the Dodge City Red Demons 28-14, and claim the Hatchet in the 85th battle for the Hatchet Oct. 15 in Wichita. Garden City used a strong ground attack to control the pace of the game with three different rushers carrying the ball in for scores.
