Hutchinson – This September Cheryl Frisbie, 58, of Lawrence, won the Kansas State women’s lightweight arm-wrestling championship again! Frisbie has attended the Kansas State Fair Arm-wrestling Contests for 38 years. She continues to win time and time again.
Roasting pumpkin seeds and discarding pumpkins
Now that Halloween will soon be past, you may be wondering what to do with the pumpkins that were used to decorate for the holiday. Consider roasting the seeds before freezing temperatures destroys the pumpkin fruit. Cut open the pumpkin and remove the seeds and stringy material. Seeds should be washed and dried and the “strings” discarded. Toss the seeds with a little oil before roasting.
Dodge City CVB recognized for excellence in destination marketing
The Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) was recognized for its achievements in destination marketing at an industry awards ceremony earlier this month. The Travel Industry Association of Kansas (TIAK) named Dodge City among the winners at the Kansas Tourism Dinner and Marketing Awards Banquet at the 2022 Kansas Tourism Conference in Wichita.
