Dodge City - D. JoAnn Jones, 84, died November 26, 2022 at Saint Catherine Hospital of Dodge City. She was born on January 31, 1938, the daughter of Ray and Evilo (Warren) Vannaman. As a small child, JoAnn moved from Kalvesta to Garden City with her family. She completed her education in the Garden City School district, graduating from high school in May of 1956. JoAnn was united in marriage to Larry Jones in June of 1956. To this union, two daughters were born, Debra and Luisa. JoAnn was a homemaker and took pride in taking care of her family. She assisted Larry with different tasks, like the saw sharpening business. JoAnn enjoyed gardening, sewing, and bird watching. She was also an avid crossword and jigsaw puzzle solver. She is survived by two daughters, Debra Maas and husband Randy of Cheney and Luisa Schriner of Dodge City; four grandchildren, Michael and Nathan Arntt, Brandie Schriner, and Logan Schriner and wife Shelia, and 10 great grandchildren. JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; and five siblings, Lottie Sperry, Leroy Vannaman, Maxine Knight, Wanda Ward, and Warren Vannaman. Funeral service will be held at Dodge City Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. After the service, cremation will take place and a private family burial will be at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Dodge City Church of the Nazarene prior to the service on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 9:00 AM until service time. Memorials are suggested to the children/youth ministries or Boothill Al-Anon Family Group at the church in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. SPEARVILLE- Leland “Lee” Stein, 82, of Spearville, Kansas passed away November 21st, 2022 at Southwind in Spearville. He was born to George and Leona Fern (Jones) Stein June 5th, 1940 in Spearville. He graduated from Spearville High School in 1958. On October 1, 1960 he married Annette Hornung in Spearville. Leland loved to farm, fish, hunt, attend his kids and grandkids events, host family and friends. A man remembered for his strong hands, huge heart, story telling, twinkle in his eye and ornery smile, who provided loving advice and wisdom that will carry on for generations. He carried out his faithfulness in his actions and was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1539, Spearville and a past board member of the Right Coop Association. Leland is survived by son, Kevin Stein and wife Gari-Ann of Spearville; daughter, Amy Garver and husband Ty of Basehor, Kansas; son, Vern Stein and wife Lorie of Spearville; daughter, Paula Stein of Dodge City, Kansas; brother, Jim Stein and wife Sheri of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his sister, Janie Mages and husband Dick of Spartanburg, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Kaden Stein, Kyler Stein, Kolby Stein and fiancé, Paige Harris, Bryce Garver and wife Ashley, Tanner Garver and wife Maddie, Amber Walker and husband Cameron, Megan Humke and wife Jessica, Elle Stein and fiancé, Josh Brungardt, Nathan Stein and wife Tausha and Anna Stein; and 3 great grandchildren, Grayson Garver, Beckham Walker and Finley Brungardt. Leland was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Annette on December 27, 2020, and his father and mother. Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 10:00 am Friday, November 25, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville with the Funeral Mass following with Fr. John Forkuoh presiding. Burial will follow in St.
Wendy Dawn Pulkrabek, 52 of Meade, KS., passed away on November 23, 2022. She was born on March 31, 1970.
