The Dodge City Lady Demon wrestling team looks to head into the post season riding a wave of momentum and this weekend was a positive step in that direction. The Rocky Welton, hosted by Garden City, featured teams from Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado and Kansas including #1 Dodge City, #3 Garden City, #4 Hays and #3 in Colorado Vista Ridge.

Dodge City track and field team competed in their second meet of the season traveling to Kearney, Nebraska to compete at the Charlie Foster Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Dodge City women’s basketball continues to roll as they stretched their win streak to 12-straight games behind a 75-64 win over Seward County, avenging their only KJCCC loss of the season and snapping a 33game losing streak to the Saints.
Dodge City men’s basketball team looked to return to the win column on Saturday as they hosted Seward County, and the Conquistadors would snap a three-game losing streak behind a 78-65 win at home. The win improves the Conqs to 15-6 on the season and 11-4 in KJCCC action, while marking the fifth win over the Saints in the last six meetings.
Satanta High School standout Kacen Anthony is proof that good things happen to those who show up and hustle every day. Starting in August, the spotlight on him can be seen in Plainview, Texas, home of Wayland Baptist University.
The 2023 SPIAA League is officially in the books. This year’s tournament had to make adjustments to the winter weather but the quality of the games made up for that.
Bucklin Lady Aces jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter and then hung on for a 50-35 victory over Spearville in the Jan. 28 championship game of the SPIAA league girls basketball tournament at the United Wireless Arena.
