PET OF THE WEEK

Amaya is a threeyear old foster dog who ran out of time at the Dodge City Animal Shelter Thanks to a great family who stepped up to save her life she is eager to meet her forever family This kidfriendly pooch loves dogs and even enjoys consensual cat interactions Her DNA is pit so adopters would need to comply with BSL if its in effect in their community Amaya exhibits a medium energy level and weighs under pounds Shes an A potty trained people person who loads up in the truck without dificulty and makes a great copilot Like many of us Amaya is treat motivated and will sit for a treat She wants to be with her people and bonds quickly to women and will warms up to men who earn her trust She has a curious nature about her and will investigate things when she feels relaxed however she is learning not to cabinet surf when she smells delicious food out of sight Amaya is a natural leash leader and pace setter who dislikes coninement in a kennel She may be unhappy in isolation and jump a baby gate to reunite with her person on the other side Behavioral issues She wants what other dogs have If there is a resource guarded in the home would rec ommend separating the dogs before letting them have toys to keep everyone safe For reasons unknown when someone approaches her with something in their hands especially a hose or a piece of wood Ama ya is intimidated and will cower away until she knows it is safe She does well if she is fed Iams Largebreed food but otherwise has a sensitive stomach Please apply to adopt at httpswwwshelterluv commatchmeadoptHAADog Adoption fee SPONSORED FOR THE RIGHT FIT and covers the cost of Distemper Parvo Flu Boradatella Vaccines If old enough a Rabies vaccine and a Heartworm test along with preventative Dogs are wormed and microchipped and spayed or neu tered This fee also helps to cover any cost of travel getting to our rescue and around the state to foster homes and vet visits while in our care
