Soil temperature and vegetables
One of the most neglected tools for vegetable gardeners is a soil thermometer. Soil temperature is a much better measure of when to plant than air temperature or the calendar.

March 5, 2023 Dear Editor, MeatOut was launched in 1985 by Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM) and has since grown into the world’s largest annual grassroots educational campaign encouraging the end of the use of animals for food. The goal of the program is to inspire and empower people to leave meat, dairy, and eggs off their plate; for just one day while also hosting events and securing government proclamations inspiring residents to consider a plant-based diet; for just one day.

To the Editor, I am writing to express my strong opposition to House Bill 2430, which seeks to criminalize homelessness in our state. As a member of this community, I am deeply concerned about the implications of this bill and its potential to harm our most vulnerable populations.

DCCC: Men’s basketball claims share of KJCCC title with road win over Pratt
Dodge City men’s basketball claimed a share of the KJCCC title after out dueling Pratt on the road claiming a 99-94 victory. The win moves the Conquistadors to 22-7 on the season and 18-5 in KJCCC action helping the Conqs claim back-to-back KJCCC titles.
DCCC: Baseball takes on #9 Iowa Western in four-game series
Dodge City baseball hosted #9 Iowa Western in a four-game series for their home opening action of the 2023 season and battled against the Reivers but suffered four losses in the series. On Saturday the Conquistadors fell 9-4 in game one and 13-1 in six innings in game two to Iowa Western.
