Immunize Kansas Coalition Disappointed in Committee Reversal on Vaccine Policy Bill

Geovannie Gone, Immunize Kansas Coalition (IKC) Executive Director, expressed concern at the latest news that the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee reversed action on SB 315 this morning, passing an amended version out of committee. “While we agree with removing the portion that infringed on businesses’ rights, today’s action by the Committee to pass Senate Bill 315 is a blow to public health protections for Kansans.

Philomath held their monthly meeting Friday, March 24, in the home of hostess Ann Frigon, assisted by co-host Judy Harshberger. a delicious chocolate sheet cake, nuts and coffee or tea were served. President Beth Love called the meeting to order and roll call was answered by 20 members telling where they lived in 1995, one of the years featured in the day’s program. The minutes and treasurer’s report of the February meeting were read by Ann Frigon. The new yearbook committee for 2003-2004 will be Gretchen Malone, Denise Parker and Jayne Shalby. A new member, Connie Reinert was welcomed to Philomath.

DCCC: Women’s basketball finishes historic season in first round of national tournament

Dodge City women’s basketball capped their season in the first round of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament falling 48-38 to New Mexico. The Conquistadors with the loss finish the season 29-4 accomplishing several things during the season as they earned a trip to the National Tournament for the first time in school history, won the KJCCC title for the first time since 1987-88, broke the school record for total wins and KJCCC wins in a single season, and had the longest win streak in school history at 22-straight games.
