Late goal in 87th minute secures victory for women’s soccer over Seward Co.

Dodge City women’s soccer snapped a seven-match winless streak in the final home match of the regular season as they got another late goal to secure a 2-1 win over Seward County.The win moves the Conquistadors to 4-8-3 on the season and 4-7-3 in the KJCCC with just two matches remaining on the season both on the road.While Seward County had control of possession early and fired off some early shot opportunities the Conqs defense would keep the Saints off the scoreboard and in the 11th minute the Conqs broke through.

Survey shows most Kansans support criminal charge for police chief who led newspaper raid

TOPEKA — A new survey shows most Kansans believe former Marion Police Chief Gideon Cody should be prosecuted for raiding a newspaper office, editor’s home and a city councilwoman’s home last year.When asked to comment, the respondents had some choice words to describe the police action.They called the raids illegal, messy, invasive, rushed, crooked, overzealous, insane, wrong, unfair, unnecessary, unjustified and unethical.“Honestly, this upsets me that this even happened,” one of the respondents wrote.
