Women’s soccer unable to stay with Cowley falling on the road

For the third straight match and the eighth time this season the Dodge City women’s soccer team faced off with a ranked opponent this time taking on #11 Cowley on the road suffering a 4-0 defeat.The Conquistadors with the loss drop to 3-8-2 on the season and 3-7-3 in conference play with four matches remaining in the regular season.The Conqs would keep things tight throughout the first 20 minutes as both teams were held off the scoreboard, but the Tigers broke through in the 20th minute to take the lead.

Men’s soccer pushes Cowley on road in tough loss

Dodge City men’s soccer hit the road against #8 Cowley to continue the season and challenged the Tigers in a tight battle that saw the Conquistador’s chances fall short in a tough 1-0 loss.The Conqs sit at 4-8-1 on the season and 3-5-1 in the KJCCC with five games remaining this season.While Cowley would record a multitude of shots the Conqs would stymie them enough to limit their quality chances.

Women’s golf takes sixth at NCAA DII event in Colorado

Dodge City women’s golf continued to go against tough four-year competition in the fall season with the latest action happening in Pueblo, Colorado at the Sam Proal Insurance Invitational where the Conquistadors would record a sixth-place team finish.The Conqs notched a sixth-place team finish out of 11 teams in a field that was nearly all NCAA Division II schools.

CLUB NEWS: Women’s Chamber

The Community Service Committee of the Dodge City Area Women’s Chamber of Commerce is accepting requests from non-profit organizations for the distribution of funds raised through their rodeo food concession efforts.The request should include the purpose of the organization, the specific use for the funds, the dollar amount requested and a contact person.

Kansas legislators lash out at absent Ford County clerk during briefing on election audits

TOPEKA — Legislators ordered an audit of Ford County’s upcoming election and suggested the county clerk resign after being briefed on audits that found inadequate security processes and poll worker mishaps in the county’s past elections.Auditors on Monday presented legislators with findings from two separate elections in Ford County.
