Southwest Kansas continues to make noise in the small-school volleyball ranks, with three power programs earning top-five recognition in the latest Kansas Volleyball Association poll. In Class 1A Division II, Ingalls remains the team to beat, holding firmly at No. 1. Over in Class 1A Division I, Spearville climbed to No. 3 after another strong stretch of play, while South Gray slipped slightly but still sits solidly in the top five at No. 5. The trio continues to anchor southwest Kansas as one of the strongest volleyball regions in the state.

The Dodge City Red Demons girls golf team faced one of their toughest tests of the season Thursday at the Hutchinson Invitational, held at Carey Park Golf Course. Against a stacked 18-team field that featured several of the state’s top programs, Dodge City finished tied for ninth with Arkansas City at 412.
