Melvin Boner passed away on October 4, 2021. He was born on July 9, 1924, the son of Clarence “Clyde Boner and Pearl Medley Alpers.
Melvin married Coleen Liebert in July of 1951.
Melvin served in the United States Navy, and was discharged in 1947. He then returned to Dodge City, working as a mechanic for Rexroad Machinery until moving his family to Washington state in 1966. He was then employed by the state of Washington as a mechanic until his retirement.
Melvin was an active hunter and fisher. He loved to camp with his family and also enjoyed water sports.
He is survived by his wife, Coleen Boner of the home; children, Billye Boner Feek, Sue Allmax, Brad Boner, and Peggy Dill all of East Wenatchee, Washington; sisters, Dora May Alpers Broberg of Midvale, Utah, and Patsy Alpers Robertson of Montezuma. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Boner; mother, Pearl Alpers; stepfather, Henry “Speck” Alpers; son, Greg; brothers, C.A. “Bud” Boner, Arthur Alpers, and John G. Alpers; and sisters, Lorene“Sis” Boner Smith, and Pearline “June” Boner Meyers.
Melvin will be remembered as a good husband, father and brother. He was always willing to be of service to family and friends. Melvin was loved by his family, including his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Private family services were held.
