MINNEOLA – Danny Joe Butts, Sr., 75, died Monday, January 31, 2022 at Minneola Long Term Care.
He was born March 26, 1946 at Grass Valley, California, the son of John T. and Evelyn (Elliott) Butts.
Dan Married Sharon Lorrine Gain on December 28, 1962. They had two children Danny Joe Butts (d.o.b., January 19, 1965 Eureka California, Sherry Ann Butts d.o.b., May 26, 1963 Eureka California. Dan drove a lumber truck for Lumberman Saw Mill in Crescent City California from 1962 to 1968. Dan and Sharon divorced December 28, 1968.
Dan married Priscilla Allen, on February 14, 1970 in San Francisco California. They moved to Liberal Kansas in March of 1970 where Dan worked as a mechanic for the Chevrolet dealership. They later moved to Dodge City Kansas where Dan worked at the Flying J Travel Center as a mechanic. They moved to Missoula Montana June 1972 where Dan was a logger. He was very proficient at logging from driving a logging truck, running a rubber tired skidder, D-8 cat and as a sawyer. Dan and Priscilla had one child. Patty Butts-Young on December 5, 1973 in Missoula Montana. Dan used his driving skills to drive long haul truck while living in Missoula, hauling grain from as far away as North Dakota to Lewiston Idaho. Dan and Priscilla divorced in March 1978.
Dan married Eileen Marie Eggleston on June 27, 1979 in Missoula Montana. They later moved to Englewood Kansas. While married, he continued his love for driving truck coast to coast. spending time with his family, fishing and hunting and his love for his pets, especially his cat “Cookie”.
Survivors include: 2 daughters, Patty Young and husband Rod, Ashland, Ks and Sherri Ann Butts, San Jose, California; one son, Danny Joe Butts, Jr. and wife Rhonda, Ben Wheeler, Texas; 2 step-daughters, Jackie Hewitt, Missoula and Jadene Brandt, Ft. Worth, Texas; and 7 grandchildren, Kayla Young, Nick Young and wife Kendra, Justin Young, Brandon J. Nicoletta, Brandon Butts, Brittney Collige and husband Codi, and Samantha Lankford. Along with 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, Paula Ann Brandt and numerous uncles and aunts.
Private family services will be held at a later date in Montana. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
