MINNEOLA-Roberta Pearl Cusick, 100, died Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Minneola Long Term Care Unit, Minneola, Kansas.

She was born on November 19, 1921 at Houston, Texas the daughter of Pearl and Sarah (Schul) Ferguson. Roberta was a farm wife all of her life and was known in the Minneola community and beyond for the beautiful wedding cakes she made for many years.

On December 15, 1956 she married George Nickelson, he preceded her in death on December 14, 1987. Later, she married Marshall Cusick on December 8, 1990 he also preceded her in death on October 31, 2009.

Roberta had no children of her own, so she spent many good times with her niece and nephews who survive: Greg Ferguson, Frisco, Texas; Rebecca and husband Terry Cornett, Sun City West, Arizona; Keith and wife Denise Ferguson, Hutchinson, Kansas; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. As a result of her marriage to Marshall Cusick, she gained 2 stepdaughters; Connie Parish, Leavenworth, Kansas and Patti Cummins, Dodge City, Kansas; 2 grandchildren; Michelle and husband Nichola Kieffer and Douglas and wife Savanna Cummins and 4 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am on May 12, 2022 at CrossWalk Christian Church, Minneola with Pastor Brad Kefauver officiating. Burial will follow at the Appleton Township Cemetery, Minneola. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:00am at the church.
