Michael Ray Powell, of North Platte, NE formerly of Aurora, CO passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born on August 23, 1960 in Dodge City, KS the son of Raymond Eugene Powell and Bonnie Kathryn (Lenz) Powell.
Michael graduated from Dodge City High School and attended community college in Colorado graduating with an associate degree. He served 12 years in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1996 and was honorably discharged E5 Sergeant. He married Brooke Ann Behrendsen on August 24, 2013 in Aurora, CO. He worked for 21 years, retiring in 2018 as an IA Specialist with FedEx in CO. Following his retirement, he found a new interest in electrical work as an electrical apprentice, as well as home remodeling, and hydroponic gardening. He was a member of the American Legion. He loved computer gaming, and spending time with his “Riblets” (grandkids, nieces and nephews). Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Michael’s memory are his mother and step-father, Bonnie (Lavern) Million of Fayette, AL; father, Raymond Powell of Baytown, TX; wife, Brooke Powell; step-children, Amber (Ageo) Lopez of Aurora, CO, Brittany Carpenter of Parker, CO, Cory Carpenter (Araceli Acosta) of Aurora, CO, Alex (Justine) Carpenter of Aurora, CO, Brandon (Carolina) Lane of VA, Courtney Lane (Ryan Blastos) of Carbondale, CO; grandchildren, Isaiah Carpenter, Ivory Harris, Kiar’ra Sims, Jada Koerner, Triston Blackston, Kayliana Ramirez, Keamree Ramirez, Olivia Lopez, Braden Lane, Dominic Ramirez, Elaina Blastos and one on the way; step-sisters, Alene (John) Dixon of AL, Meri (Robert) Desmond of TX; stepbrother, Rick (Michelle) Million of AL; sister-in-law, Deborah Powell of KS; special cousins, Mike (Tina) Adcock, Janette Powell, Lorrie (Ken) Gottschalk, and Deb Powell; nieces, nephews, step-nieces and stepnephews; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Powell and cousin, John Powell.
