FORT DODGE – Gary R. Stow (AKA Otis P. Fudpucker), 84, Fort Dodge, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2022 at the Kansas Soldiers Home.
Gary was born on a farm North of Ottawa, Kansas on July 13th, 1938 to Herman and Bernice (Sutherland) Stowe. After West High School in 1956 Gary graduated from he joined the United States Air Force. Gary served for 4 years and was stationed at Misawa, Japan & McConnell AFB in Wichita, KS. Gary was a former Department Manager for G.E.M. Stores & Sears (retired) and then resided in the Soldiers home for over 25 years.
He enjoyed music, vinyl records, ball caps, photography and coloring. Gary had a witty and contagious personality. He loved his family, friends, and Country/Western Music and met several celebrities throughout his path in life. Gary lived a life full of laughter, fun, once in a lifetime experiences and fond memories, no regrets and is loved and will be missed by many.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Bernice (Sutherland) Stowe, his brother, Donald Stowe and his sister, Alberta (Stowe) Lank. He is survived by his sister, Jean (Stowe) Roberts of Columbia, Missouri; brothers, Robert (Carol) Stowe of Olathe, Kansas and Gordon (Connie) Stowe of Wichita, Kansas and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, October 6th, 2022 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery (11560 US HWY 400, Fort Dodge, KS, 67843) with Rev. Shawn Fletcher officiating and military honors by the American Legion District 8 and the United States Air Force. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
